about

In loving memory of Jake Rains.

lyrics

I have no name, no place in this world. I lived my day, and I deserve nothing else. Though troubles bear on me, I will not care to them. I'm going home.

Lord, please come. It's time that I was gone. Though short these days have been, I've been here long enough. My eyes were hardly open; my lungs could barely breathe. My heart was not yet beating until You showed Yourself to me, and now I am truly living. This death is not transgression. This passing has no pain. The only hindrance now is the sustenance in my veins. Just turn it off. Take me out. I am going home.

For so long I have been hurting, the breaking weight of what I am. Human nature brought the cracks; sickness and sin have filled them in. All these trials and tribulations, all failures of giving in, brought plainly to the surface, no longer bound by icy skin. But judgment and moral consequence, payed only in my separation, are forsaken for the purest Love held in promised blessing: Restitution, mitigation, understanding, and, finally, peace. I am going home.

I am ready for the end of a life whose hands are wrapped around its neck and to fall into the warmth of Love found in the ascent. No longer will I regard curse or failure as this death, for salvation only comes when life ends and begins again. I am going home.

Death will always come, “Be proud and face it standing up.” But our selfish pride first brought death upon us. So I lay my burdens, my life, down in front of Your white door. I am going home.

about

Bridge the Sea Morton, Illinois

We are a band who loves music, but more than anything, we are passionate about sharing the unending hope we have in Jesus Christ. If you find Jesus through this music and desire to truly live and experience the life that God desires for you, give up your life to Him as all of us have and experience the peace, joy, and hope that only He can give. That is our prayer. We love you, and so does He. ... more
