lyrics

I saw You approaching my periphery, coming in from my side. But it's so hard to even face You with this plank run through my eye. With my vision downcast, I opened my mouth and I spoke, but those broken words, like stone, fell to the depths below. And tied to my tongue as they were, reflecting my heart as You know, they caught and dragged me down to the pit I once called home.

I thought you could save me, I thought You were God. I called You my Father, You replied, “Here I AM, my son.” As I waste here below the floor, where are you to pick me up? Abandoned, I lay so undone.

Have I fallen too far for You to reach? Can You no longer hear my voice? Was this life enough for You to leave me in hell's hopeless void? I am homeless, I am hopeless.

I thought you could save me, I thought You were God. I called You my Father, You replied, “Here I AM, my son.” As I waste here below the floor, where are you to pick me up? Abandoned, I lay so undone.

Oh, I cried for You, with all my heart, until my tears had filled this place. So I sank in my pity, knowing my unworthiness, my disgrace.

But as I turned to leave, I found light to Your gaze, and I finally saw the glory of Your Son's bleeding face. “I have always been here. All you've felt, I've felt the same. While you were crying out to reach me, I was whispering your name. Now take My hand, I'll lift you up. Come follow Me. My son, My love, you are forgiven. Know I'll never leave.”

The Son of Man hath found me, and death never shall I see. And all of this was brought about by the simplest of seeds.

about

Bridge the Sea Morton, Illinois

We are a band who loves music, but more than anything, we are passionate about sharing the unending hope we have in Jesus Christ. If you find Jesus through this music and desire to truly live and experience the life that God desires for you, give up your life to Him as all of us have and experience the peace, joy, and hope that only He can give. That is our prayer. We love you, and so does He. ... more
